5 Tips on Web Site Building and Web Stats

By Devin Jopp, SCORE COO

The most basic Web site services are free services. These services are easy to use, but limited in the amount of space and bandwidth. They typically also place advertisements on your site to offset their cost.

The next step up are services that charge a monthly fee. In exchange, you get a greater amount of space, bandwidth and no advertisements. All of the domain registrars like Network Solutions and Go Daddy offer Web development solutions.

The next option, building your own Web site, provides the most flexibility. You can either build your own or hire a consultant to do it for you. Once you have selected your domain registrar and hosting company (ISP), you can begin programming your new Web site. Tools like Microsoft Front Page or Macromedia Dreamweaver provide a familiar Windows front-end that automatically generates html code and allows you to click and drag items in order to create your Web site. Or, you can hire a Web design firm to do this for you.

Get bids for Web site development at www.elance.com. Simply post your requirements and wait for the bids to come in, or get estimates from firms in your city.

Analyze your Web traffic and track statistics. Google Analytics offers a free web analytic solution. StatCounter is a free package you access by logging in and copying code into your Web site. You can also buy an off-the-shelf package like Webtrends that is installed on the server and tracks critical stats like the number of visitors, highest ranked pages, etc. Many of the site builder tools mentioned earlier also provide options for tracking Web stats.

5 Tips for Taking Your Small Business Online

  1. Your product line should be able to be delivered economically and conveniently through the mail or over the Internet.
  2. The Web allows you to market to customers outside your geographical location. Your product should appeal to people nation-or-continent-wide.
  3. Compare new “technology” costs to current bricks and mortar costs, e.g.: rent, labor, inventory and printing costs.
  4. Realize that the World Wide Web levels the playing ground—you can look like a big company with a great Web site.
  5. Draw visitors to your site cheaply. Establish and grow alliances that will hotlink to your site for free.

How to Build Strategic International Relationships

by John Astor

Just learning how to shake hands in career world doesn’t make you culturally aware. A few learned copy-cat mannerisms and a couple opening lines will not put the global executive into the good graces of their regional leaders. It used to be fine, considering the small amount of time that leaders spent abroad. But more and more, as we see top-level local management strategies that have transparent relationships with each other for alignment and success, building relationships that are strong and solid are absolutely essential in today’s highly competitive marketplace.

In Japan, during the 1980’s boom years, foreigners were falling over each other to grab some of the success that Japanese businesses had created. Many managers learned a little bit of the language, how to eat soup, etc., but they missed a great opportunity to build real bonds. Unfortunately, those bonds could have also helped the Japanese businesses during the ‘90’s.

Today, we are in the midst of a series of dynamics such as, rising new economies, immediate access to customers and speed decision making, so creating and nurturing long lasting connections is a must. Maya Hu-Chan of the Global Leadership Development Center so correctly states, ‘In my work with multinational corporations, my global clients have often pointed out that building partnerships is one of the most important competencies for global leaders of the future’.

To develop powerful partnerships and prevent problematic situations, integrate these five pieces of advice.
  • Have a real interest in other cultures and learn about them through food, the arts and music, literature and the areas that give uniqueness to their place the human experience.
  • Build partnerships wherever you go with ease. You never force a friendship. You develop it. Become an open access point of assistance to your host reports, superiors and especially those horizontally. Encourage others to do the same.
  • Listen, Listen, Listen! This may be one of the great challenges for human beings, but it is an essential skill for trust. Don’t just listen with your ears, but apprehend the individual with all of your faculties. Go beyond their special behaviors and reach for what they are trying to communicate.
  • Never be patronizing. This may be very difficult for some cultures that have been taught they are the best. Be careful not to appear paternal or on a higher level than other people. Also pay close attention to how you phrase comments about their culture. This is also true for spouses of expatriates.
  • Get out of your shell. The higher you go up in an organization, the more insulated you become. Mingle with different people with different interests and you will be well prepared to meet the exciting challenges of interacting with all types of personalities from all over the world.

By putting these five points into action will give you a basis for working in all environments and with all cultures. Of course, each culture has unique aspects that give them their own perspectives on business and life, and we are all unique individuals with unique behaviors, but having a real sense of how we can make deeper connections profoundly helps us move forward together.

Chirac Backs Down on Employment Law

© Guardian News & Media 2008
The French government today bowed to weeks of intense pressure from students and unions and announced plans to replace a controversial employment law that has triggered widespread protests and strikes across the country.

The office of the president, Jacques Chirac, said a new plan focusing on youths from troubled backgrounds will replace the "first job contract", which would have made it easier for employers to fire any worker aged under 26.

The announcement was made following a meeting with the prime minister, Dominique de Villepin, and other senior members of the ruling UMP party. Mr de Villepin is expected to announce details of the new measures at a news conference shortly.

Last week, French unions and student leaders gave the government 10 days to scrap its youth employment law, or face renewed strikes and protests.

Roused by 3 million demonstrators on the streets, the leaders of 12 unions said in a joint statement that if the law was not revoked by April 17, the French parliament's Easter break, they would step up protests which have seen hundreds of universities and high schools blockaded for weeks. Asked what they would do if the deadline was not met, unions said that nothing was ruled out.

The government claimed its new "easy-hire, easy fire" contract would curb crippling youth unemployment, which rises to 50% in deprived suburbs. The law, pushed through parliament by Mr de Villepin without a debate last month, would spare businesses France's rigid employment laws by allowing them to take on workers under 26 in the knowledge they could let them go after two years.

Today's concessions are likely to be seen as a substantial blow to Mr de Villepin, whose presidential hopes have been dented by the crisis.

How to Avoid Employment Tribunals

 By Alistair Kelman

Some celebrities act as if they are above the law and not governed by the same laws and regulations that apply to the rest of us. A recent example was Paris Hilton's high profile prison sentence, which resulted from her blatant disregard for the state of California's drunk driving laws. A less glamorous, but by equally important example of celebrities falling foul of the law was the recent sex discrimination claim brought against Sting and Trudie Styler. The couple discovered that even they cannot escape the responsibilities that all employers have toward their respective employees.

Sting and Trudie's personal chef of eight years, Jane Martin, took the couple to tribunal after she claimed that she was sacked because she fell pregnant. The tribunal panel was in full agreement and awarded her £24,944 on account of sex discrimination. The case highlighted the need, whether you are a member of the glitterati or not, to have policies in place to deal with maternity issues.

It's not just celebrities

It is not just celebrities like Sting who have had to pay out hefty sums at tribunal with charges of treating pregnant women unfairly. There have been a lot of sex discrimination claims awarded at tribunal recently from women who claimed that their pregnancy caused them to be discriminated against. A woman who worked at a launderette was awarded £2,000 in compensation recently when she was sent home by her employer for refusing to operate a piece of heavy machinery, mindful of the danger it posed to her unborn baby, and was not allowed to come back to work.

In another case, a TV executive who worked for Sky TV and had negotiated big contracts such as the rights to the Simpsons, claimed that she was forced out of her job when she fell pregnant, her boss allegedly claiming that her having a baby was "not in his plan". The TV executive was awarded an undisclosed settlement by Sky.

How can you prevent this happening to you?

All employers should have an employee handbook which sets out the business's policy with regard to maternity. You can use our service to create your own, by using the Rapidocs document Employee handbook. This document contains provisions for protecting your employees' health during pregnancy, as well as your statutory responsibilities when it comes to maternity leave and pay. By preparing ahead of time and having a policy in place, you can help to avoid the legal troubles faced by Sting and others.

How to Fit An Active Lifestyle into a Busy Schedule

You've been wanting to get in shape but you don't feel like you have any time. Your job keeps you busy and once you're home, you don't have the time or energy to work out or exercise. What can you do? Here are a few tips to get in some exercise where you never thought possible.

Commuter?
If you commute, you have a perfect opportunity to exercise. If you can, get off the bus a few stops before you usually do. The walk will likely do you some good. You'll be able to clear your mind, relax, and unwind before you get home.

Going Up?
If you work in a high-rise and it's safe, try taking the stairs. Don't do any more than you feel capable of, especially if you are just starting off. Work your way up slowly. You can take the elevator half-way or two-thirds of the way, then walk to the rest. You'll be amazed at the exercise you are getting. And stairs are a great way to get into shape.

Walk When You Can:
By parking further away, you can get in a walk where you never thought you could as well as saving yourself a lot of frustration and anxiety that is associated with trying to find the best spot. And this doesn't have to be just at work. Try it when you go grocery shopping and at the mall. You'll be amazed at how your anxiety decreases when you aren't fighting for a parking spot right next to the door.
When you're running quick errands, try walking. Sometimes, it's not really quicker to take the car when you factor in traffic and parking.

Motivate:
Support is one of the best ways to help ensure you'll be able to continue exercising. Why not start a lunchtime walking club at work? Gather a few people from your office who have similar goals and plan a walking circuit. Invest a bit of money into getting a pedometer. You'll be amazed at how little time it takes to rake up actual kilometers. Set some goals for yourself and for the group and celebrate when you achieve them.

Learn How to Manage Your Time:
Often we think we don't have time to exercise, when really, we aren't managing our time properly. If you are self-employed, work from home, or have a flexible work schedule, make sure you spend your time efficiently. Checking email, re-reading reports, and unnecessary meetings are all great examples of time wasters. Set yourself a goal, how much work you'd like to accomplish, and once you've reached it, give yourself a break and reward yourself with your favourite form of exercise.
Fitting exercise in a busy lifestyle just takes a little creativity and thought. Sneaking exercise in your daily routine is easier than you think. You can walk around your neighbourhood, the office, or when running an errand.

Compromise Agreements Tax Implications

By Fiona E Martin

Job Vacancy Indonesia, Employee, Vacancy

Compromise Agreements are legally binding agreements between an employer and an employee, sometimes referred to as a termination settlement. They allow for a clean break of the employment relationship where the employee waives their right to bring claims in return for compensation.
The first £30,000 of compensation is generally tax free. However, this is not the case with every Compromise Agreement. How much of a payment is taxable depends on the basis on which it is paid. So if you are giving or receiving compensation in a Compromise Agreement it pays to look at ways to make it as tax efficient as possible. Here are some of the options.
Salary and benefits to date
All payments made up to the point the contract of employment ends are subject to normal tax and national insurance deductions.
Payment in lieu of holiday
Payments in lieu of holiday are taxable.
Pay in lieu of notice
Where such payments are allowed for in the employee's contract of employment or employee handbook they are taxable. Where they are not, they may be paid gross and count towards the £30,000 exemption.
However, where an employer routinely makes payments in lieu of notice - even if it is not part of the employment contract - HM Revenue & Customs may consider tax should be deducted.
Payments for restrictive covenants and confidentiality obligations
An employer may restrict an employee from acting in competition, or approaching customers or employees after they leave. If the contract contains enforceable restrictive covenants, the employer can rely on these if it has not breached the contract when terminating the employment.
However, if the contract does not have these provisions, or they are unenforceable, the employer can seek new restrictions. To make these binding in law a "consideration" must be paid - usually a small sum of £100-£200. This is taxable and liable to national insurance contributions. The same applies to payments associated with a confidentiality clause.
Compensatory and ex-gratia payments
The first £30,000 of compensatory, ex gratia (non-contractual) payments for loss of office or employment is tax exempt.
Redundancy Compromise Agreement
Statutory and contractual redundancy payments fall within the £30,000 exemption.
Pension contributions
Direct payments into a pension scheme are not taxable unless they exceed annual and lifetime contribution allowances.
Outplacement costs
Contributions to the cost of outplacement counselling or training are not taxable. Usually paid directly by the employer, they do not count towards the £30,000 exemption.
Legal costs
The employer usually pays the employee's legal costs. This does not count towards the £30,000 exemption as long as the fees are solely in connection with termination of employment.
Sums exceeding the £30,000 exemption
If the Compromise Agreement compensation exceeds the £30,000 exemption, tax is deducted at basic rate on the additional amount.

Leaders Are Created

By Joaquin Duenas

Job Vacancy Indonesia, Employee, Vacancy

Being a leader takes up time, dedication and inner exploration. Natural Born Leaders have certain qualities that properly developed will then create a great leader. Becoming a leader is a daily task, that takes time and experience, being exposed to different types of problems and challenges and having to deal with different individuals.
Athletes have a natural talent, not only to a single sport but in general to all physical activity. Athletes have to work hard, typically harder than most of us to bring out the best of them. Relying on their talent alone will not bring out the exceptional skills and they would only be average players. The same theory applies to leadership, everyday there are things to learn and gather knowledge from experiences. Personality, integrity, passion and setting the example are key elements to becoming a successful leader.
Leaders learn from other leaders, they learn by gaining experience from problem solving, they do not limit themselves and they are constantly looking to grow and for new challenges. Leaders learn from each other, they learn to distinguish success from failure and good actions from bad decisions. The golden rule to being a great leader is acknowledging his or her strengths and weaknesses and those of the people that conform his or her team.
Knowing the individuals will allow a leader to place the right person in the right task and successfully increase the chances of achieving positive results. What makes one person a better leader than others is entirely up to each individual, the tools are available, but it all depends on how each individual makes use of them. All individuals with hard work and dedication can master the necessary skills to become a successful and respected leader.
An individual must be passionate. Love and live the work they do. An individual that has a job to work from 8 to 5 and take home his paycheck will not succeed as a team leader; the person has to do it for the thrill and the satisfaction. Everyone needs a salary, individuals do not work for free, but there is a huge difference between working only for the money and working and enjoying what you do. Money will come if the individual works hard and honesty and sincerity are part of the way he or she does business. Hard and dedicated people, as long as they master the skills needed, will become successful leaders.

How Do I Know If a Data Entry Site Is Really Genuine?

By Karen Little

Job Vacancy Indonesia, Employee, Vacancy

There are many data entry websites out there. If you just do a basic search on the web for data entry you will find literally hundreds of thousands of websites. This makes it very difficult to know which ones are scams and which ones are legit. Especially if one is not experienced in this field or is a newbie to the internet.
Data entry can be a very lucrative business if you find the right program. A good program will have a good support team and training program along with easy to follow directions and up to date information. If one doesn't have this though, this doesn't necessarily mean it's a scam.
There are several different ways to spot a data entry scam so I have listed a few good ways below.
1. If a website does not have some type of contact form on the site, phone number or an email to where they could be contacted this is definitely not a good sign and I would look elsewhere.
2. If a website has been online for a short period of time or less then a year I wold be a little weary. A good company should be online for at least 2 years. Scam artists usually have fly by night websites that don't last too long so they can cover their tracks so this is something to think about.
3. Run a simple Google search for the company and see what comes up. If they have had a lot of complaints against them in the past it will definitely show up there.
4. If the website promises riches or fast wealth in a fast amount of time then I would be weary. Check to see if they have a disclaimer. A good disclaimer will not promise any amount of riches because it is against the law to do so that means they are following the FTC guidelines and that is a good sign.
These are just a few ways to spot a scam but these 4 things can be very helpful.
for a legitimate data entry job you might want to check out Typist Jobs. They have been around for a long time and pass all 4 of the scam signs we've listed above.

Employee Time Clock Software - 4 Money Saving Benefits

By Jeffery Morrow

Job Vacancy Indonesia, Employee, Vacancy

A traditional timesheet allows employees to record when they start and end specific tasks. For some employees, this just amounts to starting work in the morning and punching out at the end of the day. For others, this may involve keeping detailed start and end times for various activities, projects, or jobs throughout the day. Whatever your business needs, time and attendance software allows your employees to record this information much more easily, accurately, and objectively. Employee time clock software can help lower the operating costs of your business by making payroll processing more efficient, ensuring attendance compliance, making labor costs more visible so you can lower them if necessary, and helping automate the billing or invoicing of your clients.
Time Clock Software Simplifies Payroll
Time and attendance software takes all the punch in and out times that your employees have been recording and generates instant timecard reports based on your payroll rules. Regular hours, overtime, and paid leave time are instantly calculated and totaled for easy input into your payroll software, or sent to your accountant or payroll service. Manual or modified timecard entries should be flagged for easy follow-up and monitoring. Time tracking notes from employees explaining a late or missed punch allow you to quickly adjust timecard entries and print new timecard reports before sending off your payroll. Better yet, export your time clock program data for easy import into your payroll software. Your employee time clock software data should be automatically archived so past payroll reports are always instantly available for any period of time. This means all those hours spent preparing manual timesheets for payroll processing can be reduced to minutes. Timeclock software brings increased efficiency to your business, which saves you money!
Time Clock Software Ensures Attendance Compliance
Time clock software allows you to fully manage time and attendance, even tracking unpaid activities like lunch breaks or unpaid sick leave. Each employee timecard software report should display time spent on unpaid activities completely separate from hours worked. Make it easy to enforce your business rules by knowing how many unpaid days off employees have used. Time clock software makes it easy to track unpaid leave taken under FMLA and mandatory furlough policies. If you are an educational institution looking for a way to track time spent by students in learning or tutoring labs, you can drastically reduce the amount of time spent on mandatory state reporting of compliance with the individualized educational plan for each special education student or adult education hours with time and attendance software. Tracking employee attendance helps you schedule employees more efficiently and ensures compliance with certain legal obligations, which saves you money!
Time Clock Software Manages Labor Costs
Time and attendance software uses those same employee timecard payroll punches for labor costing. By including employee gross wages, your timecard software reports can be summarized to provide you with labor hours and dollar costs for any activity, task, job, or department for any period of time. Labor costing reports will quickly show you actual labor hours and costs on a per job basis. You should have easy access to timecard software reports that monitor labor costs for each business activity. Your time clock program reports will accurately track all employee time spent on each job, showing you changes in job labor costs from job to job, or the same job for any time period. Timeclock software gives you the knowledge you need to allocate actual labor hours on a per job basis, and being knowledgeable about the resource usage of your business saves you money!
Time Clock Software Automates Client Billing
Time and attendance software should summarize timecard reports by client, job, or department for the accurate billing of labor hours. Run timecard software status reports to make sure you are remaining within project budgets before the project ends. Set your time clock program rounding calculations for billing to the nearest minute, or in tenth or quarter hour increments. Your time tracking labor totals can now be easily entered into your invoicing or accounting software for accurate and timely billing of your labor. Quickly add a time tracking note to your reported client hours to explain job details or project tracking status. The key to tracking labor time accurately is to record new job activities as they happen. Most time clock software is easy to install and configure so it can be affordably deployed on any computer at your business. This ensures real time job tracking is convenient and easy for your employees. Timeclock software helps you accurately bill clients and stay within project budgets, which saves you money!

How to Use Your Subconscious Mind Power for Creating Success, Wealth & Health

By John Meaden

Job Vacancy Indonesia, Employee, Vacancy

The potency of the subconscious mind has become a hot subject in the world of personal achievement for over a hundred years now. But it is only in relatively recent years that we've had proof from a scientific level, including quantum physics, about how the use of our subconscious mind power has a greater influence over how we attract situations into our lives. Increased success, wealth and health can all be experienced by knowing how to fully understand and put to use the power of our thoughts.
When the book and film "The Secret" was launched, and since that time increasing numbers of people have become aware of the power of the subconscious mind and how it is linked to the law of attraction. If you want to discover how this great secret of success and prosperity will allow you to attract your ideal lifestyle, there are a few points you need to understand:
Your subconscious mind power is your greatest gift
Everybody believes that the most significant element which gives power to individuals is the gift of free will. Primarily human beings have the option of totally reinventing their own subconscious conditioning according to the things they choose to think about on a constant basis...and this is the key, as our lives are moulded by our most dominant thoughts. It isn't just a case of 'you are what you eat', it is more importantly 'you become what you think about'.
This concept has essentially been around for thousands of years, as in fact one of the authors of the Old Testament explained the fact that "as a man thinketh in his heart, so he is." However exactly what does this suggest with regards to the power of the Law of attraction together with attracting affluence, health and success?
Just take a look at some of the wealthiest men and women on the planet who have lost their fortunes and consequently managed to completely rebuild them from scratch. Do you think this is just luck?
Is it possible that these people could end up that lucky twice in a lifetime? In spite of the fact that a large number of people have also been researched or have written their own books about precisely how they made it happen, most people are unable to copy their particular accomplishments. That's simply because it isn't the method of principles that is applied which makes someone financially successful, healthy or successful within their relationships...it is actually about the individual applying the principles.
Which means that if you would like develop into the type of person who is able to very easily attract much better health, wealth and success into your life, your primary task is to use your subconscious mind power to reprogram yourself for prosperity.
Once you begin doing this you are going to produce the identical subconscious conditioning which has made other individuals prosperous. It really is just a matter of time before your actions and habits begin providing outcomes which are consistent with that thought process. But there's another side to using the power of the subconscious mind which is even more awe-inspiring and amazing than that.
The Power of the Subconscious Mind and your connection to the Universe
Over the past hundred years, physicists have found that we are located within an enormous energy field and that also everything comprises of energy. The appearance which something is in (solid, liquid or matter) depends on the vibrational condition of this energy.
The intriguing thing about this is that you utilize the power of the subconscious mind to alter your own conditioning, and this starts the process of establishing a different form of vibration on your body. If the different kind of vibration is in sync with the energy of precisely what you really want, you will end up drawn to the things that you desire.
You are going to see them more regularly and you will be presented with flashes of inspiration from your subconscious mind which will enable you to take the appropriate action that will attract these things to you
Recently, this way of thinking has become more mainstream thanks to films like 'the secret' and is more commonly known as the "law of attraction".
The law of attraction claims that the things that you possess in your life are caused by your current subconscious programming developing a vibration inside you that automatically attracts the things that you desire.
One thing is certain here, and that is the fact that learning to understand and harness your subconscious mind power is vitally important in achieving anything in your life. You become successful, wealthy and healthy 'first' in your mind, and then it comes to pass in your physical reality. It is that simple.

The Passive Job Seeker is Golden

By Phil Adamo

Job Vacancy Indonesia, Employee, Vacancy

Especially in today's economic environment, employers are becoming increasingly "choosy" with regard whom they hire... and rightfully so. With the unemployment rate reaching highs that we have not seen in decades, more and more job seekers have resorted to "fabricated enthusiasm" in hopes of impressing recruiters. These candidates are willing to settle for a job they are less than passionate about, while waiting for a career opportunity for which they are truly qualified to come around. This makes for a not-so-happy employee, and one with the potential to infect his or her coworkers. This becomes costly for the employer who has needlessly wasted time, energy, and money on an employee who is unlikely to remain long enough to justify the investment.
As a recruitment advertising executive with more than 25 years experience, let me share an important lesson that I learned though working with some of the most successful staffing professionals in the industry. It is simply this: The best candidates for any position are ones who are already employed in a similar or parallel position, and who are not unhappy with their situation. Just because they are not actively seeking a new job, however, does not mean they are not open to opportunity when it knocks. The question is, how do you reach the passive job seeker.
While career websites are a vital tool for recruiters, I have to believe that someone who takes the time to go on such a website is actively looking for a job. Does that make such people bad candidates? Of course not, but it does suggest that career websites are unlikely to provide more than a very limited number of the passive seekers described above.
Daily Newspapers, on the other hand, can be very successful tools for reaching the passive seeker - especially those who commute. And guess what? These people are commuting because they are going to work... because they are employed! Advertisements in national and regional dailies have performed very well at bringing these passive job seekers to our clients.
Using metropolitan New York City as an example, many of our clients advertise in such prominent dallies as the NY Times, Post, Daily News, and Newsday on a steady basis, especially those looking for top-notch salespeople and healthcare workers. Another excellent vehicle for reaching the passive seeker is the daily newspaper, amNewYork. Distributed at no cost at commuter venues throughout New York City and its suburbs, amNewYork enjoys a huge commuter circulation.
What about younger candidates who appear to be losing interest in the print media? Some magazines already have interactive editions compatible with such platforms as smartphones and the new iPad. These turn print advertisements into live videos that are certain to attract the younger demographics. And as augmented reality applications help transform the print media into entry portals for web-based interactivity, they are bound to recapture a substantial share of the younger audience. They will undoubtedly find ways to dazzle those of us in the older demos, retaining our interest as well.

What to Look For in Employee Scheduling Software

By James C F

Job Vacancy Indonesia, Employee, Vacancy

Staff managers know this to be a fact: Finding the correct employee scheduling software is crucial relative to the operational functioning of nearly every business. Consider the many businesses employing persons on a rotational shift basis and there isn't any way you may dispute it. Retail establishments, restaurants, hospitals, customer service organizations are just a few of the businesses that require automated solutions when performing employee scheduling.
In order to make it easier finding the perfect automated solution pertinent to scheduling emphasis needs to be placed within two very fundamental areas:
a) The employee scheduling software must have the features that improve efficiency as far as scheduling your staff; and
b) There must be built-in functions that are requirements of your operation. Also it is a useful action to consider what it is you intend to accomplish in using an automated solution or moving to a new version of employee scheduling software. In example, you may wish to use a solution that makes it easier to perform scheduling of employees.
The following considerations are important when reviewing a particular scheduling software (solution):
a) The software must improve the way you are able to use employees within different roles inside your operation;
b) The automated employee scheduling should offer features wherein you may customize it to your particular industry;
c) The employee scheduling software must reasonably support shifts and where the employee is assigned within your facility or operation. When you use it, you should be able to save all kinds of time. Additionally, once you purchase a solution, you should be able to access proper technical support and/or documentation.
It is an important task: reviewing employee scheduling software with respect to a buy-decision. You'll want to make certain you can schedule your employees into the future as far as is necessary. Make certain the software used can facilitate employee scheduling up to six months. Using this type of feature you'll be able to comfortably schedule rotations with respect to shifts, holidays, and requests for time-off for your employees anytime it is necessary.
Employee scheduling software that is worth its weight will allow for places where you can record particular notes such as reasons for the time off: vacation or sick day. It is also a good feature to use an automated brand providing the number of persons you require on a particular shift within a certain location. In this way, you may assess whether you are over or under staffed.
Another good feature associated with employee scheduling software is when the automated solution provides the staff manager with a list of employees available to work the shift. This is particularly relative when you are put in the position of filling a position where the employee did not show up for work as scheduled. Conceptually, the list should update instantly once you assign a certain employee to a shift.
Another significant feature you will wish to consider when choosing the right brand of employee scheduling software is assuring it provides you as staff manager with customization. Here is what is meant by the preceding: You'll want to make certain you can put together reports and schedules based on your particular requirements. The customization aspect as it relates to reporting may include:
a) Ranges with respect to date;
b) Types of employees:
c) Various shifts; and
d) Particular locations (as well as other pre-defined data).
When defining shifts the employee scheduling software must allow you to:
a) Define the start and end times of the shift;
b) Break time; and
c) Indicate the start of each work week.
When considering employee scheduling software you must believe that the software scales down on the amount of time it takes to produce the employee schedule. Further, there should be some built-in security feature in order to adequately protect the employee scheduling data.
The software should allow you the flexibility of:
a) printing the schedule;
b) emailing it; or
c) publishing it online.
The scheduling software must come equipped with resources in order that you may attain assistance when necessary. This may come in the way of a) a user's guide; or b) a help file. The appropriate resources will provide information allowing you as user to a) learn how to use the software; and b) solve specific problems or issues as you come across them. Also customer assistance is highly valuable in the way of email correspondence or telephone.

This is when you really have to be on your game, where the most important decision is made, whether to hire you or not and where you better bring you bag of impressive tricks. But first let's make sure you get all the basics down because let's be real, if you mess up any of the following things it's over before you even get a real chance to shine and show what you can bring to the company.
The 9 Most Important Job Interview Hints:
1. The day before the interview, call and confirm the time for your appointment. Yes, that's right call them up, its professional and shows you're responsible about your commitments. Be firm in your confirm, don't ask something like "is my interview still on and what time was that again?" The night before make SURE you know where you are going, get MapQuest directions, and take a map of the city where you are going to be.
2. Plan for the unknown, such as getting lost, traffic jams, traffic accidents. Arrive early, better to sit there trying to look productive than arrive late and have NO chance at getting the interview. With an Interview it is always One strike and you are out.
3. Treat everyone in your path like gold, including the receptionist. Behave warmly, professionally and with enthusiasm. You never know who is going to cross your path on your way to the interview, the CEO may ride up the elevator with you or the interviewer coming back from lunch, you never know. Take every opportunity to shine!
4. When meeting the interviewer, give a firm handshake (not a death grip though), and offer a polite and enthusiastic greeting, and smile.
5. Your body language means everything! Do not slouch, yawn (this can be a nervous tic but you will come across looking uninterested), fold your arms in a defensive manner or give off any other signals that may turn the interviewer off right away.
6. Show your desire to participate, take notes during the interview and actively engage in the conversation with nods and smiles. Always make direct eye contact with the interviewer!
7. Do Not drift off in your thoughts and then make the interviewer repeat a question. Keep on task, which is giving the interview process your undivided attention. Even a small "drift" about thinking how you are doing in the interview or whether you think the interviewer likes you is enough to side track your line of thinking forcing you to say, "could you repeat the question, please."
8. Answer with confidence, take the time to think before you speak. A small pause is fine and preferable to any ramblings that may come out of your mouth because you're not sure what to say. Even using phrases such as "that is a great question", may give your brain time to think of where it is going. And it is much better than Ummmmm!
9. Be proactive and if the interview appears to be going well, ask to tour the office, remember to introduce yourself to those you meet. You never know how a good impression will play out and help improve your chances of landing the job.
Bonus Tip: Finally, submit your Best Job Interview Weapon - the 30/60/90 Day Action Plan -your Secret Career Document! This will have the interviewer practically eating out of your hand they will be so impressed. More Job Offers are won with this piece of paper alone than anything else!

A Career with the Federal Aviation Administration

By Lance Winslow

Job Vacancy Indonesia, Employee, Vacancy

A career with the Federal Aviation Administration or FAA might not be such a bad idea, as there is a severe shortage of Air Traffic Controllers right now. The Federal Aviation Administration predicts this shortage to continue and the GAO is stating it could get very serious. In fact some are blaming the Lexington, KY crash on the fact that there was only one air-traffic controller on duty, when really three were needed.
The Federal Aviation Administration employee admitted to having his backed turned as the jet got onto the wrong runway for take-off, a runway too short for Jets and mostly used for General Aviation only. Of course it is still pilot error, yet this is one of the first real examples of the problem and the Federal Aviation Administration knows that safety is paramount in their line of work.
The Federal Aviation Administration will no doubt be hiring feverously to insure they have staff on hand in all their control centers, towers and other administrative positions and this means due to supply and demand they will have to raise the pay to compete for this labor in the free market. So, you might find yourself in a very good pay scale working for the Federal Aviation Administration.
Working for the Federal Government has its advantages indeed and the benefits can make up for any differences in pay from the private sector, yet in this case you might find high-pay plus benefits as the Federal Aviation Administration deals with their shortages of staff. So, consider this in 2006.
